September Wedding at the Bride’s Grandmother’s Property

There is something incredibly special about a wedding held on family land.

This September celebration in Georgetown, Delaware took place at the bride’s grandmother’s property — a setting filled with history, heart, and generations of memories. With wide open fields, vintage tractors, and a red barn backdrop, the day felt effortlessly rustic and deeply personal.

I was able to capture portions of this beautiful celebration, and every moment reflected the couple’s connection to family, tradition, and the land they love.

Thoughtful Fall Details

From purple florals arranged in a vintage milk can to soft baby’s breath bouquets wrapped in lace, the details felt simple and intentional. Pampas grass, pumpkins, and textured fall décor created a warm September atmosphere that complemented the natural surroundings.

One of the most meaningful touches was a framed photograph displayed alongside a tractor — a quiet nod to family legacy and the generations who came before them.

The entire setting blended rustic charm with heartfelt sentiment.

An Intimate Backyard Ceremony

Surrounded by family and close friends, the ceremony was intimate and relaxed. Under soft tent lighting and open skies, the couple exchanged vows in a space that already held so much meaning.

There were emotional embraces, proud smiles, and moments that felt unfiltered and genuine — the kind of moments that make backyard weddings so beautiful.

Portraits on the Farm

After the ceremony, the farm truly became the backdrop.

A Wedding Rooted in Family

Weddings held on family property carry a different kind of weight — not in extravagance, but in meaning. This Georgetown farm wedding was not about grandeur; it was about roots, heritage, and celebrating love in a place that already felt like home.
